On my goose feather Christmas tree the theme for this year has a distinctly oriental feel. It could stay up for the Chinese New Year, although it will go down as tradition dictates on the twelfth night. I have combined vintage paper lanterns, honeycomb paper decorations with glass ornaments that have been made in Italy, Germany and Japan. To complete the look I have used a nice selection of vintage of milk glass bulbs around the base in a tin that also has a subtle oriental design.

The tree always sits by the window in the hope that passerbys will stop, look and get pleasure from its magical quality. I made it myself some years ago and it is beginning to show signs of wear, the feathers are fading and the paper wrap around the trunk is starting to disintegrate but each year it comes out it provides me the opportunity to create new memories for all to share.
